Johanna Penttinen and Olli Mäkelä

SUMMARY

The treatment of osteoarthritis is an important part of equine practice. In selected cases, systemic therapy may be preferred over the use of intra-articular medications. In the second part of the article, we review the use of non-steroidal anti-infl ammatory drugs, hyaluronic acid, polysulfated glycosaminoglycan, pentosan polysulphate, tiludronate, and glucosamine.
